Men are under a lot of pressures to perform what is considered their duty. Men are expected to be strong,  be leaders in the home, care takers, protectors, providers, husbands and fathers. But men have deep issues as well. Problems that can only be understood by other men.
Whymenpray.com was created as an avenue for men to establish deep relationships and trusted lifelines with 2 or 3 others who would do whatever it took to make sure you never failed in life, in marriage, in business and in your dreams. Another Brother who would hold you accountable without judgement in complete confidence and trust.  It is simply a time to get together as MEN without egos, without perfection, without shame, all because we realize that none of us have it all together, and to allow ourselves to vent and to release these inner burdens to other men who are dealing with the same thing. Many may think that relationships like this takes time, years even. But that's not true. It use to be called Honor among Men. When a handshake sealed the deal. When trust and confidentiality was the order of the day. My objective is to establish groups of men all around this city who can come together in honor, love and purpose and to grow and learn from one another as Steel sharpening Steel. If you don't like it you do not have to participate and you will not be judged for it but try to be a part of it. Maybe all you have is a prayer request. God is our foundation, but you come when you are ready. No pressure.  That's why men pray.

How do you think the role of men have changed in say the past 20 years? More killings, more domestic violence, more suicides (especially of black men which (outside of slavery) was not common at all. Divorce is high now with people who have been married 18-25 years! What's happening fellas?

It'll Make You Think You're Jesus!

In the Dallas Morning News there was a story entitled: 'Man tried to revive dead opossum'
In Pennsylvania a man was charged with public drunkenness after he was seen trying to resuscitate a long-dead opossum along a highway. The trooper said that one person saw the 55 year old man kneeling before the animal and gesturing as though he were conduction a seance. He said another saw the man trying to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. The trooper said the animal already had been dead awhile. There's just not much more I can add to this about the warnings of drugs and alcohol. However, if by chance you still don't get my point, the opossum's all yours. STOP!

We are a product (shaped by) our Past;
Living in (influenced by) the Present;
Fighting (sometimes alone) for our Future.
Through that lineage we fail to ask ourselves 3 questions:
What exactly am I looking for?
Would I know it if I found it?
Am I whole enough to receive it?
Our Past is just that, our Past. What was. Don't look back, but remember so that you don't repeat the things that were destructive to you. That's important.
Our Present is now. When you think about it, NOW is all you have. The past is gone, the future is life on credit. You don't get it until you pay for it and you can't get more until you eat what's on your plate Now. So deal with what's on your plate now but deal with it in a responsible and prudent manner. It's all you have, For Now.
The Future (notice I didn't say Our Future because it's not yours yet)  is your gift for living NOW in a responsible and prudent manner. If you don't pay your bill (NOW) you don't get it so while you hope for it, live your life today with no regrets and live it as though there is no tomorrow. Work hard and live hard but do both responsibly and respectful of others who are trying to do the same thing. Can't we all just get along.
